The General Plan Update process has covered a lot of ground and the GPAC will begin identifying policy alternatives that will be explored and evaluated! The GPAC will meet on October 16th to review the framework of three policy alternatives. The alternatives are not recommended General Plan updates; instead they will allow the Committee and the community to “test” the benefits and tradeoffs of different policy decisions for the General Plan. The GPAC’s discussion will identify the appropriate parameters of three future alternatives and will address major issues in the community, including: development in the Marinship, building resilience to disasters and sea level rise, appropriate development standards to address the City’s needs, strategies to implement community desires like more and better connected trails, stairways, and street networks that were expressed through previous community engagement activities. This will be an important discussion and we encourage all members of the community to participate either in person, or by contacting the General Plan Update team.
